PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police said a 13-year-old boy was killed after a tractor he was riding overturned on a farm in Franklin Township, New Jersey.
It happened just after 5:30 p.m. Monday on Swedesboro Road, near the New Jersey Turnpike.
Police said the boy was helping a family member dig a hole with the tractor, and it overturned, trapping the boy underneath.
First responders found the boy unconscious and unresponsive. They worked to lift the tractor off the child and took him to a nearby hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The man who was also on the tractor was treated for minor injuries.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
