Man pleads guilty to stealing intimate pics of women and posting them online

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philly man already convicted of recording Villanova students without their knowledge will spend up to five years in state prison after admitting that he stole private photos of women he knew and posted them on the internet.

Tyler J. Jones, 34, pleaded guilty to eight felonies and nine misdemeanors in a deal that will land him 2 ½ to 5 years in state prison.

He’ll be required to serve five years of probation and register as a sex offender for 15 years after his release.

Prosecutors said Jones accessed the phones of at least five women and sent himself intimate photos from their library.

Jones posted those images online and in one case displayed the victim's full name.

“Every time the defendant posted one of these stolen images or videos — and every time that content was viewed online — the person depicted was revictimized,” said Attorney General Dave Sunday.

Jones was previously convicted of secretly filming college students in a Villanova University bathroom and uploading the recordings.

Jones is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 30.
