PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck a woman last fall in Northeast Philadelphia, leaving her with a traumatic brain injury.
It happened on Oct. 8, 2024, just before 8:45 a.m. Authorities said a 47-year-old woman was hit by a dark gray Honda Civic while crossing the street. She was in the crosswalk at the intersection of Bustleton Avenue and Stanwood Street, near the Rhawnhurst Rec Center.
Authorities said the driver exited the car and pulled the woman out of the street, but then got back in and drove off. He fled before an ambulance or police arrived at the scene.
On Thursday, police released security camera footage of the man leaving his car and tending to the woman in the street as a bus passes.
