PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police detectives are looking for a pair of suspects who stalked a hardworking father of two to his home after an Amazon shift and killed him there. Police hope surveillance video will help identify the suspects.
Ricardo Scott took up any overtime shifts available at the Bensalem Amazon warehouse, riding two buses to get home.
“By all accounts, Mr. Scott was a very hard worker. He was a driver for Amazon. He would pick up overtime shifts to work as a package handler,” said Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit Capt. Jason Smith.
But on Saturday, Oct. 1 just before midnight, two young men, one wearing an orange hoodie, the other in a black hoodie, followed the bus that Scott, 42, took back to his Lawncrest home in a 2010-looking model of a silver Dodge Charger.

“He arrived at the SEPTA bus terminal at Bridge and Pratt streets. He departed that bus, and it was at that time that our suspects observed Mr. Scott go onto another SEPTA bus to complete his journey home,” said Smith.
“We believe that they knew where Mr. Scott was going to depart that bus, they got ahead of him, they looped around a side street, parked that vehicle, and were able to converge on Mr. Scott.”

Scott was shot dead in the face on his front porch. His cousin found him and called police.
“He was a father of two. He had no prior criminal history, and by all accounts he was a very good man,” said Smith.
Scott has no criminal record, and was taken from his two children.
Surveillance video shows the car tailing the bus, as well as the suspect in the orange hoodie running from the scene and taking off in the silver Charger.
As always, there is a $20,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Police say the suspects are armed and dangerous. They ask you to call 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335 if you have tips on the case. You can also text 215-686-8477 with tips, e-mail tips@phillypolice.com, or offer a tip anonymously.
