A man in Florida was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer while running away from ICE and Homeland Security agents. He was one of four people in a car parked at a gas station in Saint Augustine Tuesday morning. Police said when the agents arrived, they scattered. The 28-year-old man darted across a busy road in front of the truck.
This is the third death in about a week involving encounters with immigration enforcement. There were two deadly shootings during vehicle stops in Texas and Maine.
Here in Philadelphia, a vigil was held Tuesday night at City Hall to remember those killed. Immigration advocates, faith leaders and supporters called for accountability from the feds.
