NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, passed away this morning in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, CA around 10AM. TMZ first reported the news this morning. Kobe was taking his oldest daught, Gianna, 13, to basketball practice at the Mamba Academy near Thousand Oaks, CA when the crash occured. There are no survivors and 5 are confirmed dead.
Kobe is known for traveling via helicopter. He famously would fly from Newport Beach to the Staples Center in Downtown LA for Lakers game. Kobe is survived by his wife, Vanessa, and their 4 other daughters.
Most recently, Kobe congratulated fellow NBA great, Lebron James, on surpassing him on the NBA all-time scoring list.
