I have been a passholder at the Disneyland Resort since 2002 so I can easily say I pretty much know everything there is to know. But, with the new Galaxy's Edge ride I knew nothing. So, Sunday we woke up very early to find out about it.
We got to the parkinglot at 6:45 and there was already a long line to get in. After finding a parking space and getting on the tram we got into the park at 7:52. To be able to try and get a boarding group you have to be in the park before 8.
Eight o'clock came and we were so happy we got an early boarding group and you can hear cheers from others as well. Words can't describe the ride. It's not even a ride its an experience. The cast members dressed in their Imperial uniforms who stayed in character was so much fun and added to the experience. I don't want to give too much away but I will tell you....you will leave with a smile on your face.
Here are some tips:
1. Download the Disney app
2. Link all tickets to your app
3. Get there before 8 and leave enough time for parking and getting into the park.
4. When 8 o'clock hits...hit the join a boarding group link on the app. Don't refresh or go backwards. We found out we got a boarding group in less than 20 seconds and the boarding groups were done in less than 5.
Doing these tips doesn't guarantee but they help.
