We are so sorry to hear of the lost of a San Diego radio legend. If you grew up in 90s in San Diego like I did, then there was one morning show you probably listened – "The Jeff and Jer Show." For decades, they entertained San Diego, including a run on KyXy 96.5 from 2011-2017. On Sunday, Jerry "Jer" Cesak passed away at the age of 74.

As a kid growing up in San Diego, Jeff and Jer was the first morning show I remember listening to. The laughs, the stories, how they made you feel apart of the family…. They were legendary. Fast forward to me getting a job at a radio station that was across the hall from them- I couldn’t believe it! I remember being nervous to meet them, but they were so humble and kind. Not only was Jer a radio icon, but a San Diego icon and he will be missed. He not only left a lasting impact on San Diego, but in the radio industry as well. Our deepest condolences go out to his wife, Pam, and all of his loved ones.

After Jerry retired from radio he continued his lifelong work of animal advocacy, serving on the boards of the Humane Society of the United States and the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
