Ravens LT Ronnie Stanley no longer available for Patriots, re-signs with Ravens

One of the Patriots’ top free agent targets is officially off the board.

On Saturday, the Baltimore Ravens posted on X.com that they have agreed to terms with All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport went on to post that the deal is for three years at $60 million overall, good for an AAV of $20 million per year.

With the Patriots having a dire need at left tackle this offseason, Stanley was seen by both fans and media alike as a must-have as free agency opens up next week.

Instead, the 30-year-old re-ups with Baltimore, the only franchise he has ever played for in his nine-year NFL career.

With a league-leading $128 million in cap space to spend this offseason for New England, Stanley’s signing back with the Ravens is not a death sentence. But with the best left tackle available off the board, you have to wonder where Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf pivots to next.

Earlier this week, MassLive’s Karen Guregian reported that the Patriots are both interested in drafting LSU left tackle Will Campbell at No. 4 overall and willing to move him to guard if things don’t work out at his natural position in the pros.

Perhaps New England is more than interested in the 21-year-old, and are planning to invest their cap space at other positions while having Campbell on a rookie deal at LT - even with his short arm measurement at the combine in Indianapolis.

Whether the Patriots decide to draft Campbell or not, there’s still a chance the team looks to add at tackle in free agency. This could be an insurance policy for Campbell if things don’t pan out, or it could be the team making a signing with the intention of starting them on the right side of the line.

Here’s a list of the top NFL free agent offensive tackles available for 2025:
