o She defended her friend, Piers Morgan on “The Talk” yesterday.
o She asked her co-host Sheryl Underwood to explain when Morgan had been racist in his discission of Meghan Markle.
o Sheryl said it was not his words but rather his tone and the fact that he was questioning her experience.
o Sharon was emotional and said that Underwood was accusing her of being racist.
o Another co-host, Elaine Welteroth, added that it was a moment to stand up for anti-racism saying, “When we give passes or give space to people who are saying damaging, harmful things, what we’re kind of doing is permissing it. And I think that’s what people are reacting to.”
o Piers tweeted her and thanked her for her support, describing her as a true friend.
#Unilever
o They will no longer use the word “normal” on their packaging and advertising.
o The move includes brands like Dove, Suave, and Vaseline.
o When certain products are labeled for “normal” skin or hair, they said that implies that any other type of skin or hair (oily, acne-prone, mature, curly, kinky) is abnormal and in need of correction.
o The action is part of the company’s new Positive Beauty Vision and Strategy, which hopes to “champion a new era of beauty that’s inclusive, equitable and sustainable.
o The company is also committing to increasing the amount of ads “portraying people from diverse, underrepresented groups."
