Just like a white winged dove sings a song, it sounds like Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks are singing, and tbh it’s really sending us to the edge (like in a good way).
Getting us ready for the release of her new album Plastic Hearts, Miley enlisted none other than Fleetwood Mac songstress Stevie Nicks to serve us an epic mashup of her recently released “Midnight Sky” and Stevie’s famous hit “Edge of Seventeen,” befittingly dubbed, "Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix).”
Actually, it’s so much more than a mash up, of two separate songs, as Stevie lended her gravely voice to Cyrus’ tune, which starts off with Waddy Wachtel’s unmistakable 16th-note guitar riff.
With no prior promotion, the song’s appropriately timed midnight drop was officially announced by both Miley and Stevie on their respective Instagram accounts.
"@StevieNicks has always been my idol & an inspiration," Cyrus wrote alongside a photograph of herself and a youthful Nicks striking similar performing poses. "It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator.” Sharing the same visual, Stevie message read, “Duet with Miley... Magical! Loved singing with her!”

Honestly, as self proclaimed super Smilerz we should have seen this coming, as Cyrus revealed to host Jimmy Fallon while appearing on The Tonight Show back in September that she connected with Nicks to get her approval to sample her track.
Miley admitted that she contacted Stevie looking to get her seal of approval saying, “‘I have an alternate melody if you don’t want to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me.” Evidently Miley got more than just her approval, but also permission to use the track, with Stevie even saying, “you can borrow from me anytime.”
Wait, does the borrowing also extend to her closet, because Miley rocking one of Stevie’s breezy velvet shawls would kind of be everything.
