Jessica Simpson continues to bare all in her new memoir “Open Book.”

In a new excerpt obtained by ET, Simpson claims that the role of Allie in the 2004 film, "The Notebook," almost went to her instead of Rachel McAdams.

She makes the reveal in the section where she recalls watching the film on a flight shortly after her divorce from Nick Lackey was made public.

"The statement went out while I was in the air, but nobody on the plane knew a thing, except that Jessica Simpson was loudly sobbing in first class. Then they announced that the movie we all had to watch was 'The Notebook.' Oh God, I thought. The most romantic movie in the world, and I was leaving Nick," the excerpt read.

She continued, “I knew exactly what the movie was about because I had read the script but turned it down because they wouldn't budge on taking out the sex scene," Simpson wrote. "And it would have been with Ryan Gosling, of all people."

Simpson went on to note she was “in love” with Ryan Gosling, who starred in the film as Noah.

Simpson and Gosling knew each other from back in the day, as they were both in “The Mickey Mouse Club” with Justin Timberlake.

During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to promote her book, Simpson revealed she shared a “nostalgic kiss” with Timberlake shortly after the divorce and explained that he and Reynolds made a bet when they were young over who would kiss her first.

It turns out Simpson was right about one thing - "The Notebook," based on the 1996 novel by Nicholas Sparks, did become the biggest romantic movie of all time, bringing in more than $115 million, according to Good Morning America.

McAdams and Gosling even won the award for “best kiss” at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards where they re-enacted their steamy makeout from the film.

Simpson’s memoir also revealed her battle with addiction and how she was drunk during a now-infamous interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

She also went into detail about her obsessive relationship with John Mayer and how she wishes she signed a prenup with Lachey prior to their divorce.
