Singer, songwriter, and frontman of the iconic Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, spoke with host Annalisa this week about the group's upcoming 50th anniversary arena tour, which kicks off on September 7 with special guest St. Vincent joining them on most North American dates.

Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera, and Paul Thompson of Roxy Music -- one of the most influential and exhilarating music acts in Rock history -- are set to tour together for the first time since their sold-out and critically acclaimed 2011 For Your Pleasure outing, this time to mark 50 years since their groundbreaking self-titled debut with 13 arena shows across North America and the U.K.
Ferry plans to take in the sights of the cities they visit, giving themselves a day off everywhere to "try and cram everything in that you can," he says. At the same time Ferry, now 76 years old, admits balancing rest with urban exploration is just as important to him. "Traveling can be tiring," he adds. "the show is the most important thing about the tour; you have to respect those things and try not to exert yourself too much. Having fun is off-limits, sort of."
Fans planning to catch the 50th-anniversary tour can expect a wide range of tracks played throughout the night. Although choosing the set proved "difficult," says Ferry, "because you just try and do a representative selection from each album, from the whole catalog of work. Plenty of the early stuff, and hopefully enough of the later stuff that people like a lot too."
This year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are also celebrating a half-century of Roxy by re-releasing each of their eight studio albums as special anniversary editions with new half-speed cuts, revised art, and a deluxe gloss laminated finishes. The first two offerings, 1972's Roxy Music and 1973's For Your Pleasure, were released earlier this spring, with the remaining albums arriving in paired drops throughout the year. All albums will be available to order via the Bryan Ferry online store.
