Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Despite some small procedural hiccups in Nottoway County and the Richmond Area, the Board of Elections says that, overall. Tuesday's election went "very smoothly." Susan Beal, Commissioner of Elections for the Commonwealth, says that a number of the issues reported turned out to be user error, and that the board is satisfied with the way elections went overall.

Beal also specified that, even though all mail-in ballots must be postmarked for Tuesday at the latest, they can be received and still be counted as late as Monday, since Friday is Veterans Day and mail will not be delivered. She anticipates they will be dealt with efficiently, however, as local registrars have been preparing to handle the record numbers of mail-in ballots.
