
Joining in on the celebration and conversation around the first 50 years of Hip-Hop, legends Bone Thugs-N-Harmony shared the story of how they got started and why they’ve been “blessed” when it comes to finessing Hip-Hop beefs.

"We all started in like junior high, like seventh grade, I had a class with both of these dudes right here, that's how it all started,” Krayzie Bone recalled pointing to Flesh-n-Bone and Layzie Bone. Noting how he had English class with one and home-ec with another. After realizing all three of them had an affinity for beatboxing and rapping he got a “bright idea.”

“I was like you know what, this dude in my home-ec class who can beatbox too,” he continued, “y’all need to battle… I set the whole battle up. These two dudes seen each other and Flesh said, ‘ay that’s my little brother,’ I said ‘what!’ and ever since then we’ve been rockin’ as a crew.”

As for their ability to finesse a feud, the group shared, “we’ve been blessed man, although there’s been many beefs in Hip-Hop, we’ve been blessed to dodge all of them… We’ve had our fair share of beefs but now the people we beefed with back then, they’re brothers now.”
