C.J. Stroud throws first interception, Texans still score

HOUSTON - If C.J. Stroud was going to end the streak of starting his NFL career without throwing an interception, this was the way to do it.

Stroud already entered Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints with the most passes without throwing a pick to start his career with 186 through four games.

The streak ended at 191 as Stroud threw an interception on the Texans' second offensive drive of the game. Saints linebacker Zack Braun picked Stroud off, but fumbled on the return, which was recovered by Texans offensive lineman Tytus Howard.

It was ultimately a first down for Houston, led by Stroud, before marching down to the end zone. Stroud a couple of plays later found Noah Brown on a play action pass to set the Texans up with first and goal, then scored on a short touchdown pass to Dalton Schultz.

For Schultz, it is the third consecutive week with a touchdown. He joins Owen Daniels and Joel Dreessen as the only Texans tight ends to accomplish the feat.
