Tony Bennett’s wife Susan Crow recently spoke about her husband’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, explaining in a new interview with Anderson Cooper that at times his mental acuity seems to diminish.
According to Susan, the 95-year-old iconic crooner has been struggling with memory and thinking and revealed he is not aware that if the illness and has moments where he is "more alert" than others.

Susan tells Cooper on CBS News' 60 Minutes, "Every day is different," for her husband. "Tony late at night, sometimes early in the morning, he's more alert, if I can use that word.” Adding, “I'll tell him, 'Tone, you're gonna be on 60 Minutes.' He's, like, 'Great.' "I said, 'You remember that show, 60 Minutes, he's, like, 'I do.' But in any other given moment, he won't know."
Susan says, "He recognizes me, thank goodness, his children you know, we are blessed in a lot of ways. He's very sweet. He doesn't know he has it." When Cooper asked for clarification regarding whether or not Bennett knows of his Alzheimer's affliction, Susan confirmed saying, "No." Watch the full interview above.
Bennett was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2016, and recently announced his retirement following his final album, Love for Sale, a collaboration with Lady Gaga, which arrived last week.
