Bassist Simon Gallup has apparently rejoined The Cure just two months after leaving the band.
As NME points out, Gallup seemingly confirmed he’s rejoined the band when he replied to a fan that asked whether or not he is still a member. “Yes I am,” he said.
While the outlet has reached out to representatives of both The Cure and Gallup for comment, it appears his hiatus from The Cure was short lived.
Gallup is/was the second-longest tenured member of The Cure next to co-founder and frontman Robert Smith. His tenure hasn’t been without its own issues as Gallup previously left the band in the early ‘80s over disagreements with Smith.
He eventually rejoined the group in 1984 and served as the best man in Smith's 1988 wedding to Mary Poole.
