AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person is dead and another was hospitalized following a shooting at a northwest Austin hotel Monday afternoon.
Austin Police say the incident happened at a Motel 6 in the 11900 block of Pavilion Boulevard, near Research/183 and Oak Knoll, just after 1 p.m. Monday.
Police say a male victim, found in a hotel room, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A female victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in in stable condition.
According to police, based on preliminary information, two suspects that fled on foot may have been involved in the shooting. There is no one in custody, and no available description of the individuals police may be looking for.
It's not clear what prior history, if any, existed between the victims and the suspects.
There is no ongoing threat to the public, but police are continuing to urge everyone to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
It's the third shooting Austin Police have responded to in the last 24 hours.
