Matt Milano does not practice Monday due to pec injury

The Bills will be on a short week as they host Miami for "Thursday Night Football"

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills are off to a 2-0 start to the 2025 season, but have already dealt with a few injuries in the early stages of the year, especially on the defensive side of the football.

With the Bills having a quick turnaround this week, hosting the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night at Highmark Stadium, Buffalo may be dealing with another significant piece missing defensively, as head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that veteran linebacker Matt Milano would not practice due to a pectoral injury.

Milano ultimately exited the Bills' 30-10 win over the New York Jets on Sunday late in the second quarter. While he was never officially ruled out by the team during the game, he did not return to action.

Significant injuries have been a problem for Milano over the last few seasons, as he tore his bicep last year, and the year before that, the 31-year-old broke his leg and tore the MCL in his knee.

Meanwhile, defensive tackle Ed Oliver was also not at practice on Monday, as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

With the Bills taking part in a walk-through practice on Monday, the team had three players projected to be limited: Cornerbacks Taron Johnson and Cam Lewis, and linebacker Shaq Thompson. Both Johnson and Thompson were inactive for Sunday's win against the Jets.

As for defensive back Jordan Hancock, he was expected to be a full participant.
