WEEK 6 RECAP

Dorman Stadium

Last week I went 6-3 with my picks and am now sitting at 60-18 on the season. Here are a few thoughts on last week's games:

1) Dorman & Byrnes did not go the way I thought it would. Byrnes started QB Gabe Rogers, more of a passing threat and that really didn't work. The Byrnes offense was not able to build any consistency at all on Friday against a very tough Dorman defense. Gabe Rogers & Brayden Blackmon both saw time at QB, but Dorman was the better unit. Dorman's defense was dominant all night long holding Byrnes to only 18 points. Byrnes had a few special team mistakes that allowed Dorman to capitalize on great field position three different times. Dorman's Zay Foster was incredible especially with his legs. This was a game that could have been a blow out and also could have been a close game just depending on a few mistakes from both teams. Dorman is very good, one of the best in the state. Dorman is in GOOD shape going into the playoffs. Byrnes played only their 3rd game this season against the Cavaliers and it showed. The Rebels need reps plain and simple.

2) Broome has an unprecedented draw. The amount of football games that the Broome Centurions are having to play in a short amount of time is just unbelievable. Broome dropped a tough one on Wednesday night to Emerald. The Centurions look to bounce back on the road tonight against Woodruff.

3) Gaffney got a much needed game slated for next Friday against Blythewood. The last thing the Indians wanted to do is roll into the playoffs not playing a game in 3 weeks. The Indians will face off against the Blythewood Bengals on Friday which is much needed for Gaffney.
