With the NFL season entering Week 16, don't take any chances and risk losing your championship matchup.
It has all come down to this. Records are meaningless. Previous stats are meaningless. Play your best options and don't be cute. Don't take shortcuts. Start your best options, and hope your team has what it takes.
Who to start, and who to sit this week in fantasy football:
Start 'Em
QB: Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
Opponent: vs. 49ers
Kyler Murray, or as Aqib Talib likes to call him, 'Calamari' (which hopefully catches on), is trying to single-handedly will this Cardinals club into the postseason and faces a 49ers defense in Week 16 that struggled to contain Andy Dalton on Sunday afternoon. Murray has helped you make it this far, and it's time to go all in.
RB: Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Opponent: at Lions
With Ronald Jones ruled out for the second-straight week, hopefully you picked up Leonard Fournette to be your starting RB2. The former LSU phenom found the end zone twice in Week 15 against the Falcons and now faces the league's worst rush defense: the Detroit Lions.
WR: D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers
Opponent: at Washington
The Panthers head to the nation's capital for a matchup with the Washington Football Team. With Christian McCaffrey doubtful to suit up, Teddy Bridgewater will need to utilize the playmakers he has available to try and pull the upset. The biggest benefactor of CMC's absence is D.J. Moore, who should light up the WFT's secondary that has struggled in recent weeks.
TE: Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins
Opponent: at Raiders
Mike Gesicki is expected to suit up in Week 16 for the Dolphins for a primetime matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. He missed last week's game against New England with a shoulder injury, but was limited in practice Wednesday and should be ready to go.
Sit 'Em
QB: Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Opponent:vs. LA Rams
The Rams have allowed the FEWEST points to opposing quarterbacks this season and just lost to the New York Jets. Imagine that. Losing to the Jets. I would not be the quarterback trying play Aaron Donald this Sunday, and unfortunately, that guy is Russell Wilson.
RB: Le'Veon Bell, Kansas City Chiefs
Opponent: vs. Falcons
With Clyde Edware-Helaire out for the foreseeable future, you may have scooped up Le'Veon Bell thinking you have just hit the lottery. But are you really going to risk winning the fantasy title hoping Bell falls into the end zone? That is your decision.
WR: Juju Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers
Opponent: vs. Colts
If you plan on starting any Steelers in the fantasy championship, you may have missed the last three games. Take five minutes out of your day and study up.
As for Juju Smith-Schuster, he's scored in double figures in just one of them. The Colts have the 10th-best pass defense in the National Football League, and are likely handing the Steelers a fourth loss in a row.
TE: George Kittle. San Francisco 49ers
Opponent: at Cardinals
Don't even think about. Kittle has a CHANCE to play on Sunday in the desert, but has been sidelined since Week 8 with a foot fracture. The 49ers are not in playoff contention and just handed Kittle a monster contract extension and will not hesitate to pull him off the field should he have a hiccup during the game. If you made it this far without Kittle, well done. But don't risk a shot at a title on a prayer he's back to full health.
