Cowboys legend Troy Aikman suggested his former team is in need of a rebuild in the closing minutes of Tuesday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens -- but conceded he doesn't know what it would even look like.
The Fox NFL analyst and Hall of Famer sounded exasperated as the seconds ticked away on another Dallas loss, this one dropping America's Team to 3-9 on the year.
"I don't know," Aikman said, "I just don't know where this organization -- where they go.
"There's just so many things that have to be addressed this offseason."
The Cowboys are a long way from the glory years of Aikman's teams, which captured three Super Bowl titles.
The arrival of new head coach Mike McCarthy was supposed to mark a fresh start after two-plus decades of .500-ish play and early-round playoff exits, but it hasn't worked out that way in the first year.
The early-season injury to star QB Dak Prescott appeared to seal the Cowboys' fate for 2020, and perhaps raised more questions about the team's future than were supposed to have been answered last offseason.
Football observers and fans took note of Aikman's apparent despondence on social media.
