The Atlanta Braves got back to back homers in the 7th to take game 4 by a score of 3-2. After the come from behind win, the Braves are now one game away from winning their 1st World Series since 1995. The Braves offense was held at bay through the first 5 innings, before they came alive.
The Astros got a quality start from Zach Greinke, who scattered four hits in four innings of work before being pulled. Kyle Wright gave Atlanta a quality start and kept them within striking distance. He allowed one run on five hits through 4 and 2/3 innings. The Astros scored one in the 1st and then went up 2-0, on a Jose Altuve solo homer in the 4th.
Atlanta would scratch one across in the 6th when Austin Riley had an RBI single to score Eddie Rosario, who doubled earlier in the inning. Tyler Matzek came on to pitch in the 7th, he would go on be the winning pitcher. Matzek worked a scoreless 7th to the lead at one run. That set the scene for the Braves in the 7th. SS Dansby Swanson homered to tie it at 2-2. That brought up Jorge Soler pinch hitting in the pitcher's spot in the order. Soler smacked a solo homer to left to put Atlanta up 3-2.
In the 8th, Atlanta escaped trouble with a tremendous defensive play. LF Eddie Rosario made a running catch at the fence to rob Jose Altuve of an extra base hit. The defense played behind Luke Jackson who came on in the 8th, to hold the lead for Atlanta. That set up Closer Will Smith, he came on at got "jiggy with it" in the 9th, to seal the win.
Eddie Rosario and Austin Riley both had two hits for Atlanta. 2B Jose Altuve and CF Kyle Tucker had two hits a piece for Houston. The Braves now are on the cusp. One more win would bring the franchise their 1st World Series win in 26 years and the first of this millennium. It has been the tale of two seasons for Atlanta, as they were a game below .500 in July and have been on fire since late in the regular season.
