The SEC Women's Basketball Tournament got underway in Greenville with four games on its 1st day, Wednesday. South Carolina is the #1 seed after going 15-1 in conference play to win the regular season. The Gamecocks have made Greenville a 2nd home under Coach Dawn Staley.
South Carolina is looking to make it a three-peat after winning the SEC crown in Greenville each of the last two years. The Tournament has been in Greenville every year since 2019, with the exception of 2022. South Carolina has won the tournament every time it has been in Greenville, expect for 2019 when Mississippi State won it.
