The MLB trade deadline is just two weeks away. The Braves, who are coming off their first series loss since the month of May, are rumored to be in on a few big names, whether that be a starting pitcher or bullpen arm. However, the Atlanta Hawks may be the team to make the big move first before August 1st.
Abe Gordon recently shared his thoughts on which Atlanta sports team is more likely to make a big move in the next two weeks on Saturday's episode of the "Abe-T-L Show."
It would appear that the Braves, a team whose trade deadline is approaching and is in the midst of another title run, would be in the business of adding a final piece to put their roster over. According to Abe Gordon, "In terms of the Hawks, I don't know how we go another two weeks and they don't make a significant move."
The Hawks started the offseason with finally trading John Collins to the Utah Jazz. Many believed that was the first of a few more big moves the Hawks would make. Since then, the Hawks have only added Patty Mills, veteran point guard who may be traded himself from the team.
"I refuse to believe that what they have right now is all their going to do...I would almost wager that the Hawks are making a significant move," said Gordon. He went on to highlight how the Hawks running the course and not making another move could be the driving force for a split between the organization and their star player, Trae Young.
Some names have been thrown around and linked to the Hawks. Pascal Siakam, Deandre Ayton, even Zion Williamson. Regardless of which one they add, its believable they will be acquired before August 1st.
