The two best teams in the National League, the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers are meeting for a 4-game series at Dodger Stadium this weekend and they will be fighting for home-field advantage all weekend long and through the remainder of the season.
The Braves enter the 4 games with a lead over the Dodgers of 4-games, and if they win the series, they could see that lead become insurmountable. John Fricke and Randy McMichael discussed the possibility of home-field
"It's a good thing, home field in baseball doesn't always matter like it does in other sports. The one-seed gets a bye-week, but you don't want the Dodgers to overtake you," says Randy McMichael.
While home-field advantage may be important, it may not be the only accolade that could be decided in this four-game stretch. The top three, arguably the top 4 candidates for NL MVP will be playing in this series, and a big series could end with either Ronald Acuna, Mookie Betts, or Freddie Freeman in front.
Surprisingly this series will NOT be on Sunday Night Baseball this week as that honor goes to the Yankees at Astros.
