DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Kellen Moore won't be leaving, after all.

Moore and the Cowboys announced late Saturday that they reached an agreement on a multi-year contract extension that will keep him in Dallas as their offensive coordinator.

"I am very excited to remain with the Dallas Cowboys as the offensive coordinator. I will no longer be pursuing the head coaching job at Boise State. I love Boise State. I will always root for them, and I hope one day to be a part of the program again.

"We are building something special here in Dallas. I am thankful to the Jones family and Mike McCarthy for providing me with the opportunity to coach these special players. I am excited for us to put it all together and finish the job."

The Idaho Statesman wrote that Moore should be among the top candidates for the job as he remains a "local legend" in the city after he became a Heisman Trophy candidate and went 50-3 as Boise State's quarterback.

Moore's departure was seen as a foregone conclusion amongst the media over the past several days. But something changed...

Enter Jerry Jones.

105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher is betting that Cowboys owner stepped in to save the day, so they could keep their rising young coach in North Texas.

Did they money whip him? It appears so.

Did they promise him to be Mike McCarthy's future successor? That's to be determined.

The Cowboys kept Moore on staff despite moving on from former head coach Jason Garrett earlier this year. Despite his success calling plays in Green Bay, McCarthy allowed Moore to call the plays this season.

It was very clear then just how important Moore was to the Cowboys. And, now, it's even more evident.
