CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Myles Garrett’s playoff debut was a rather quiet one that saw him register just a tackle in the box score last Sunday night.

He left Pittsburgh tired after battling double and triple teams all night and more likely await him in Kansas City Sunday afternoon.

“It definitely takes a toll on you during the game having to fight against multiple people,” Garret said Friday. “You just have to know that your time will come. I got close a couple times, but like I said before, I am due.”

The Browns are counting on Garrett to disrupt Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense this weekend and he hopes to make Mahomes remember his name.

“I want him to be able to go home when he has his kid or kids and tell them that he went against Myles Garrett,” Garrett said. “It is not just me versus him – it is the Browns versus the Chiefs – but individually, I like to leave an impression on everybody I go against.”

Garrett, who is still recovering from the aftereffects of COVID-19 that cost him two games, had four strip sacks in the first seven games of the season but none since. He has 2 ½ sacks in the six games since he returned in Week 13.

With the Browns once again underdogs, opportunity knocks for Garrett to make a name for himself and help lead his team to another upset.

“Absolutely. This should be the game to do it,” Garrett said. “One of the best teams in the league, if not the best team in the league, but they have to go in there and they have to prove it, and we have to prove that we can battle with anybody.”

Garrett also conceded that with Mahomes, the Browns best defense might be their offense.

“The guy is great with his feet and he is great throwing off of the run,” Garrett said. “He can make plays in any part of the field so we have to be prepared for that. Do not jump for those ball fakes. If you take your shot at him, make it clean and try to take the ball away from him.

“The best place to be on the field with Patrick is with the ball in our hands instead of him because he is great with it.”

Watkins out – Chiefs receiver Sammy Watkins won’t get a chance to find out just how much competition the Browns will provide Sunday.

He was ruled out Friday with a calf injury.

Rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who did not practice Thursday or Friday due to an ankle and hip injury was listed as questionable.

Injury report – QUESTIONABLE: RT Jack Conklin (hamstring), LB B.J. Goodson (shoulder), TE David Njoku (hamstring), TE Stephen Carlson (groin); EXPECTED TO PLAY: DE Myles Garrett (shoulder), DT Sheldon Richardson (neck), RG Wyatt Teller (ankle), C JC Tretter (knee), RB D’Ernest Johnson (finger), WR Jarvis Landry (hip), LB Malcolm Smith (ankle)
