HOUSTON (SportRadio 610) -- It seemed as though the Texans' regular season was going to end in overtime after Ka'imi Fairbairn nailed a 51-yard field goal with just 22 seconds left in regulation.
The kick tied the game at 38 and all the Texans defense needed was to not give up a big play to the Titans' offense.
But that big play happened.
Ryan Tannehill found A.J. Brown for a 52-yard pass play, beating Texans cornerback Keion Crossen. It set up a 37-yard field goal by Sam Sloman to win the game for the Titans.
Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel, in his final postgame press conference, was asked whether there should have been safety help for Crossen.
"They took a chance on that play," Crennel said. "They took an aggressive shot down the field and it just turned out they were able to make it. They had their speed receiver against our corner and he kind of got a step on us and made a good catch and that put them in position to win the game.
"He is the fastest guy we've got in the backfield. That's why he was matched up on their speed guy and we just got beat."
