South Carolina Football hauled in talent from around the Upstate and other area standouts signed with different power conference programs.
The Gamecocks signed a quartet of top Upstate prospects. That group includes Westside QB Cutter Woods. He helped lead the Rams to their 1st State Title in over 50 years in 2023 and has them back in the Upper State Finals. Woods is rated as a 3-star QB prospect by Rivals. He chose SC over Auburn, Virginia and Wake Forest among others.
Gaffney O-Lineman Shedrick Surratt Jr. is considered by many as a big pick up for South Carolina on the recruting trial. Surratt is ranked as a 4 star by Rivals. He signed with the Gamecocks turning down Colorado, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas and others to head to Columbia.
The Gamecocks also inked Eastside Pass Rusher Quay Dodd. The 3-Star D-End chose South Carolina over Virginia, VA Tech and others. Abbeville star Safety Damarcus Leach also chose the Gamecocks. Leach had offers from Michigan, Duke, and Georgia Tech among others.
Other notable signings included Running Back Marquise Henderson signing with Clemson. The 4 Star from BHP has been committed to Clemson for some time now. He chose the Tigers spurning offers from most of the rest of the ACC.
One of the highest rated prospects in the Upstate, decided to look out of state. Riverside Tight End Mikkel Skinner signed with Kentucky. Rivals has Skinner rated as a 4 star and 4th overall in the state rankings for 2025 prospects. He chose the Wildcats over South Carolina, West Virginia and others.
Gaffney Athlete Jamarcus Smith signed with James Madison. He's a playmaker who is versatile and has been used all over the field this season. 3 Hanna 3-Star DB Cam Strong signed with NC State turning down Duke, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, West VA and others on the way.
JL Mann RB LaDannian Martin (who was formerly at Greer High) signed wth Georgia State. Martin has been getting college offers since his Sophomore year when he was at Greer. He signed with the Panthers despite offers from major conference programs like Tennessee and Louisville and several mid-majors.
Statewide South Carolina signed 5 in the Rivals top 10 and is expected to sign one more from that group during the early signing period. The Gamecocks signed 9 of the state's top 20 prospects in the Rivals rankings.
Clemson signed the state's #1 prospect 5 Star D-Lineman Amare Adams from South Florence. Henderson from BHP was ranked 4th overall and signed with Clemson. The Tigers signed three ranked in the state's top 15.
