Upstate High School Football players ink college deals

Wednesday marked National Signing Day and several football players around the Upstate, signed letters of intent to play at the next level. In this article, I am going to highlight some of those signings.

With time constraints, a small staff and a large coverage area I can't get to everyone. I apologize in advance if I didn't get to a specific signee that you are looking for in this article.


Abbeville- Altavious Patterson (Newberry) and Levi Paul (Erskine). They had Safety Demracus Leach sign with South Carolina in December.

BHP- Brady Smith (Newberry) and Drew Landley (Brevard). They already had RB Marquise Henderson signed with Clemson.

Broome- Logan Brown (Brevard) and Amiri Hardy-Shipman (Limestone).

Byrnes- Dorian Griffin and Jaidyn Ferguson (both signed with Presbyterian). The Rebels had 3 other players sign with in-state DII schools.

Christ Church WR Jackson Repp signed with the South Carolina Gamecocks over offers from Boston College, Buffalo and Furman amongst others.
Daniel's Bruce Brown signed with Furman, as did Seneca Punter Ethan Sullivan.

Dorman's Dashaun Robinson to Wingate and Jackson Ngoku from Fountain Inn signed with North Greenville.

Gaffney- The crown jewel of their graduating Seniors Shed Sarratt had already signed with South Carolina. Playmaker Jamarcus Smith also already signed with James Madison. The Indians also so had Kalik Harris, Jayden Sims and Andrew Ruppe sign with Presbyterian. 6 other Gaffney players signed with either in-state D2 schools and one signed to play at the Juco level.

Greenville High had Gavin Wilson sign with Umass and Charlie Arnette signed with Erskine.

Hillcrest's Bryce Rainwater inked his letter to Furman, PJ Miller signed with Wofford. Three other Rams signed to play at in-state DII schools.

Spartanburg- Cam Smith (Citadel), John Hammond (Western Carolina) Josh Hodge (Wofford) and two other Vikings signed to play at DII schools.

Westside- The brother duo Chamarryus Bomar and Armoni Weaver who transferred to Westside from Byrnes both signed to play at West Virginia, after de-committing from Appalachian State together. AJ Suttles signed with Gardner-Webb and Sharode Richardson Charleston Southern.

Walhalla Offensive Lineman Connor "Gibby" Talley has not yet signed. He has picked up offers recently from Gardner-Webb and multiple DII level schools. He is still considering his offers.

National Signing Day once again showed proof of the level of football and football players that the Upstate produces for an area of its size.
