A Gamecock Football standout has been awarded the highest honor for in-state college players. WR Xavier Leggette has been named the winner of the Blanchard-Rogers trophy. It's the highest honor given to a current player by the South Carolina Football Hall Of Fame.

The Blanchard-Rogers Trophy is considered the Palmetto State's version of the Heisman. Leggette had over 1,200 receiving yards and 7 TD's this past season. That makes him 2nd all time to Alshon Jeffrey on the single season yards list.

Leggette will be honored at the 11th annual South Carolina Football Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony which is set for April 18th in Greenville.

This year's Hall Of Fame Class includes former Clemson RB Terry Allen, Greenwood Native and Super Bowl Champ Ben Coates, former SC and NFL RB Harold Green, Citadel Legend Stump Mitchell and Coach Jimmy Satterfield who led Furman to the 1988 FCS National Title.
