The Junkies wonder what the Commanders' ceiling could be

The Commanders are 3-1 with two straight road wins, one on a short week, and back-to-back performances of 35-plus points (for the first time since 1991). The defense was much improved Sunday, Jayden Daniels is the No. 2 fantasy QB and the most accurate QB EVER through his first four games, and confidence is high.

Can this be a legitimate playoff team, with a one-year turnaround like the 2023 Texans?

“I love not watching Ron Rivera-led Commanders football…it’s exciting,” Cakes said. “Ron on the sidelines was borderline catatonic, like you could barely tell he was alive. Arms folded, stoic, so little emotion…nice man, but bad coach and even worse personnel guy.”

“It’s exciting to see Dan Quinn just fired up after a defensive stop, and he gets excited and the guys are coming off the field,” Bish said. “He's going ‘great effing job,’ you know, high fives, and I've never saw that from Ron.”

Through one-quarter(ish) of the season, the 3-1 Commanders are the top team in the NFC East…can they stay there for the next 14 weeks?

“They're definitely a legit playoff team now. Division, maybe they're still slightly behind Dallas or Philly, I’m not sure,” Bish said. “But when you’re 3-1, you’re definitely a contender.”

“We haven’t seen them head-to-head, but Dallas looks like a mess, and the Eagles just haven’t been right,” JP said. “There was talk last year that Sirianni could get canned, and supposedly there's some sort of rift between him and Jalen Hurts, who has a turnover problem.”

“Have you seen their schedule? Three of four on the road at the Steelers, Niners, and Falcons, and home to the Lions,” Cakes said of Philly. “We have the Browns at home next, then the Panthers, the Bears, and the Ravens – we don’t leave the state of Maryland to play a game in the next month because the only road game is in Baltimore.”

“The division just isn't as daunting as it usually is,” was Bish’s response.

What say you, EB?

“They couldn't roll out a better start than what they have right now,” Eric said. “I don’t care what happens, we have to beat Caleb Williams and the Bears. And I would love to know what Quinn sees in the film when he talks to the defense.”

We’ll see if it can continue and they can do that, but for now, you can listen to the Junks’ entire conversation above!
