Support Fund for Sole Survivor in Head-On Crash; Five Killed

A support fund has been established through the Greenville Police Foundation to help a Greenville Police officer who was the sole survivor of a deadly crash.

The crash involving two SUVs that killed five people happened early Friday morning, May 15, 2026, on Highway 101 in Woodruff. Troopers say the vehicles collided head-on near Bellview Road around 12:45 a.m.


Killed in the crash were Sergeant Ashley Munoz, an 11-year veteran of the Greenville Police Department; 62-year-old Maria Del Rosario Munoz of Greenville; 64-year-old Arturo Leon Munoz of Fountain Inn; and 50-year-old Deborah Sue Wyatt of Duncan. 46-year-old Max Douglas Wyatt Jr. was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

The sole survivor, Sergeant Diana Munoz, a more than 12-year veteran of the Greenville Police Department, was airlifted to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Police say she and Ashley Munoz were a couple and have two young children.

A fund has been set up through the Greenville Police Foundation to support the family. The foundation says every donation received through the end of this month will go directly to Sergeant Diana Munoz.

Five people are dead after a two vehicle collision in Spartanburg County, early Friday morning. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says, a 2025 Ford SUV and a 2016 Toyota SUV collided head-on. The crash happened on Highway 101 near Bellview Rd Extension.

The driver and a passenger in the Ford as well as the driver and two passengers in the Toyota were killed. One passenger in the Toyota survived and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The names of the victims have not been released, as of the time of this report.

The crash remains under investigation by Highway Patrol. While the names of the victims have not been released, we're told that one of the victims killed was an officer from the Greenville Police Department.
