(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A southwest suburban woman has been charged with a hate crime following an incident with a bartender at a night spot in the city.

According to a police report, 30-year old Sara Abdulrasoul allegedly threw her drink at a bartender five months ago at The Underground Chicago, located in River North. The 28-year old bartender had been wearing a Star of David necklace prompting Abdulrasoul to order him to take it off and to allegedly make several anti-Semitic comments. The Orland Park woman allegedly said she hates Jews, threw her drink and then left the bar.

Her lawyer said Abdulrasoul is a pharmacist and helps care for her father. A judge released her on her own recognizance and ordered her to stay away from taking drugs and alcohol until her case is resolved.
