HBCU pride is taking over Truist Park!
The Atlanta Braves are celebrating Historically Black Colleges and Universities with HBCU Night presented by Truist on Friday, August 28, when the Braves take on the Colorado Rockies.
The special night will combine Braves baseball with HBCU culture, community and a pregame celebration.
What’s Included in the HBCU Night Ticket Package?
Fans who purchase the special HBCU Night ticket package will receive:
- A ticket to the Braves vs. Colorado Rockies game
- Access to an HBCU Night pregame party at the Coca-Cola Roxy
- An exclusive Atlanta Braves HBCU snare drum bobblehead
- A $4 donation to the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance with every package sold
The pregame party will run from 5:30 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. at the Coca-Cola Roxy, giving HBCU students, alumni, supporters and Braves fans a chance to celebrate before the game.
Fans purchasing the package will receive a voucher that serves as both their admission to the pregame party and their voucher for the exclusive bobblehead. The bobblehead must be picked up during the pregame party and will not be mailed after the event.
Giving Back to Atlanta’s HBCU Community
The celebration isn’t just about showing HBCU pride.
For every specialty ticket package sold, $4 will be donated to the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance, an organization that supports the HBCU community throughout Metro Atlanta.
Atlanta has a particularly strong connection to HBCU culture, with institutions including Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University and Morris Brown College all calling the city home.
The Braves have made celebrating HBCUs a recurring part of their community programming. Past HBCU Nights have also highlighted the connection between HBCUs and baseball, including Braves alumni who attended HBCUs such as Ralph Garr, Marvin Freeman and Marquis Grissom.
Stick Around for Fireworks
The celebration doesn’t end with the final out.
Fans are also encouraged to stick around after the game for the Braves’ Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Georgia Lottery.
The specialty HBCU package is separate from a standard game ticket, meaning fans who want access to the pregame party and exclusive bobblehead will need to purchase the designated HBCU Night package. Tickets are dynamically priced and are available while supplies last.
