The Atlanta Falcons continue to make it clear to Kirk Cousins, that his needs and desires are not going to supersede what is best for the franchise. The latest example of this took place as Falcons Owner Arthur Blank and Head Coach Raheem Morris spoke at the NFL Meetings.

"I understand the business aspect and the Falcons are not just going to acquiesce to Kirk Cousins and his agent," says Randy McMichael. "We know what (Cousins) wants, to be a starting QB. The Falcons are not going to do that. They view releasing him as a mistake. If you can walk away with an asset, that would be wonderful."

Arthur Blank spoke to ESPN's Marc Raimondi at the NFL's Annual Meetings and told the him that the Falcons would like to be "thoughtful and sensitive to Cousins while doing what's right for the organization." Arthur Blank also suggested that Cousins is aware of the factors, "He understands what our needs are and he understands what we have to do as a franchise"
