President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden celebrated the president's first 100 days in office in the peach state. But, before celebrating in the metro, they both made a special visit to Plains Ga to meet with former president Jimmy Carter and former first lady Roslyn Carter.
After meeting with the Carter's in their home, the president made his way up to a rally in Gwinnett County at the Infinite Energy Center, where he highlighted his administration's success of administering more than 220-million coronavirus shots.
Biden pressed that all Americans need to get vaccinated and shared that young adults are eligible to receive the vaccine at age 16. The president also added that next on his agenda is infrastructure and he thanked Georgia voters for electing two Democratic senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
Not everyone was welcoming. Protestors gathered outside the Infinite Energy Center, expressing their disdain for private detention centers, and held up protest signs with the message "Abolish ICE."
It has been a busy week for the president; on Wednesday, Biden addressed Congress and introduced his one-point-eight-trillion-dollar plan for family assistance programs and education access expansion.
