College football fans are in for a treat on Saturday afternoon. Two of the best offenses in the sport will be taking the field in a defacto SEC East championship.
Mike Griffith from Dawgnation joined the Morning Show to discuss the looming matchup, and what the biggest question mark for the reigning national champions could be ahead of the game.
The Georgia offense has been strong in the 2022 season, ranking second in total yardage only behind their opponent on Saturday. For Mike Griffith, the biggest key will be whether that offense -- and Stetson Bennett in particular -- will be able to keep pace with Tennessee:
"I think Georgia’s ability to answer offensively because Tennessee is going to score points," Griffith said on Monday morning. "We know Pitt held them to three touchdowns and regulation I'm guessing they'll probably score between 24 and 35 points on Georgia. The question is, how does Georgia’s offense answer and how does Stetson [Bennett] play? We saw two versions of Stetson Bennett last year, and this year and you know that the guy that played against Alabama in the SEC title game, that's not going to beat Tennessee."
While the offense stole the show, the Tennessee defense also flexed its muscle in Saturday's dominating win over a top-20 team in Kentucky. Will Levis is a projected first-round pick, and the Volunteers held him to 98 yards and picked him off three times in the 44-6 rout.
Stetson Bennett and the Georgia Bulldogs cannot afford a game like that. Last week saw the Georgia quarterback throw for 316 yards and two touchdowns, but also two interceptions that helped get Florida back in the game.
Bennett has to be at the top of his game come Saturday, but we've seen that out of him before.
"The guy that played the first 3/4 of the [2021] National Championship is not going to beat Tennessee either," Griffith went on. "The guy that played the fourth quarter [of the National Championship] will. The guy that played against Oregon will."
With two of the best offenses in all of college football taking the field on Saturday, just get ready for some fireworks.
