Braves' bats save the day, for now

The Braves limped into the series finale with Arizona on Thursday for a 12:10 first pitch to try and salvage the third game of the set after dropping the first two. Starting pitching continues to plague the club after Spencer Strider ran out of gas in the seventh inning and coughed up another lead.

The bats, however, returned the favor with Austin Riley and Matt Olson launching a 3-run and solo shot to give the Braves a 7-5 lead.

“All of a sudden the runs are at a premium in the post season. We’ve seen that. It happened with the Bobby Cox teams,” Mike Bell explained.

Dukes & Bell have stated they prefer the club to strike now and make a move for more pitching help. The Braves will next travel to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers, who are in 1st place in the NL Central, sporting a 53-43 record.
