As the MLB Trade Deadline draws near, many questions still remain for the Atlanta Braves as they look to put the final pieces of a championship roster together. Despite sporting a 64-34 record heading into a two-game set with Boston on Tuesday, the club could use reinforcements in the starting rotation and perhaps a left fielder to bolster the one weakness in their everyday hitting and fielding. Dukes & Bell believe GM Alex Anthopoulos may have another move or two up his sleeve.
“This isn’t the end of what’s going to happen between now and August 1st. I will tell you, I think he has maybe two more moves to make before the deadline, I really believe that,” Carl Dukes explained.
August 1st marks the deadline for deals to be made. With precious little time remaining and rumors being few and far between, it remains tough to predict what moves Anthopoulos could make. With Max Fried on the mend, his addition to the rotation could be viewed as an asset unto itself.
