Channel 2 WSB-TV Activates CONVOY OF CAREHELP KENTUCKY STORM SURVIVORS GET CRITICAL SUPPLIES

Convoy of Care

Atlanta – December 14, 2021– Following the devastation caused by the tornado that tore across Kentucky last week, WSB-TV Channel 2, law enforcement, the trucking industry and the nonprofit organization Caring for Others are leading an effort to bring disaster relief to tornado ravaged communities in Kentucky.

A contactless collection will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm at the following drop off locations:

• Red Hawk Baseball Complex, 143 Henry Pkwy, McDonough, GA 30253

Requested items are (NEW ONLY):

• Baby supplies

• Paper products

• Non-perishable food items

• Flashlights, batteries & manual can openers

"We have identified leaders and locations in the impacted areas and they're waiting for our trucks to arrive," said Clarence Cox, former National President of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, (NOBLE) and an original Convoy of Care partner. "We are grateful to have Steve Syfan of Syfan Transport and Logistics is joining us in this effort," Cox added.

"This is the giving season," said Condace Pressley, WSB-TV Channel 2 Director of Community Affairs. "Once again, this community and our partners will make a difference in the lives of our neighbors in need."

The Convoy of Care first organized in 2016 to send disaster relief supplies to hurricane survivors in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. WSB-TV, Channel 2, NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives), Caring For Others, Inc., Georgia Motor Trucking Association, Georgia Coach Lines, Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, Georgia Sheriff's Association, Stewart Miller Simmons Trial Attorneys comprise the original Convoy of Care team. Additional support is provided by Atlanta Peach Movers and Palletworks, LLC.
