Cordarrelle Patterson’s role will be “unique” in Falcons offense

“I do think that we’ll see him more on the pass catching side, more catching the bubble screens, and you know kind of in a more west coast offense style of system where they try to get the ball to him in space where he can make plays.” Joe said.

Cordarelle would love it if it played out exactly like Joe’s prediction, because being lined up more at receiver, catching bubble screens, and being put in the position to make more plays in space is something we saw Patterson do much more in 2021 with the Falcons.

Yesterday at Falcons mandatory minicamp at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Cordarrelle expressed his feelings of possibly going back to the type of role he played in 2021 with Atlanta, and the Falcons vet is more than open to it. “I would love to get used like i did in ‘21.” Patterson said.

Atlanta almost had to use Cordarrelle exclusively at running back last season due to injuries to their running back room, but with the Tyler Allgeier’s emergence last season, and Atlanta drafting the dynamic running back, Bijan Robinson, with the eighth overall pick in April’s draft, there’s no doubt Arthur Smith will go back to putting CP in position to be the swiss army knife that he is.
