Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has immense talent, skills, and tools that always give you a little bit of optimism that this season will be the season he goes back to being as productive as he was his rookie season. Along with the hope that Michael Penix Jr. can get more out of Pitts, Kyle is also in a contract year, and you would like to think he’s primed to have a monster season, but earlier today The Morning Shift explained why expectations for the former fourth overall pick shouldn’t be too high in 2025.
“The reality is I think at this point whatever you get out of Kyle you get and whatever you don’t you don’t. It’s year five guys, like this is probably it, get what you can out of it, hope that he gives you some plays that help you win a game or two, and chalk it up as it’s a guy that won’t be here anymore. Yeah not all draft picks work out. Unfortunately, you really can’t afford to miss a lot of fourth overall selections, but this one you might’ve. That might be at the end of the day what you say.” Beau Morgan said
Pitts is already starting the 2025-26 season a little bit behind the eight ball as well. Kyle is currently not doing any on-field activities because he is reportedly dealing with a strained muscle in his foot, so time will tell how much that affects the start of his season, but he is expected to be a full participant when training camp starts.
Pitts hasn’t shown much promise since his rookie campaign for a multitude of reasons, and even though everyone wants Kyle to live up to that unicorn label he was given coming out of the draft at this point there’s not much evidence he will.
