The Braves are now into the offseason as the team looks for ways to strengthen the roster for another World Series run while also trying to keep veteran free agent first baseman Freddie Freeman. Dukes & Bell talked about why money is not an issue for the World Series champions during the hot stove season.
Dukes talked about the why the team has no excuses this offseason when it comes to signing free agents.
“The Braves TV rights deal are going up, now it won’t happen until 2023 but it’s going up $20 million dollars from $80 million to $100 million,” Dukes said. “The interesting thing about this is it continues to increase, by the time we get to 2027 this deal, locally we’re talking about, is going to be upwards of $120 million per season.”

“All of a sudden now, not only is the attendance up, not only is the Battery rocking, not only are you World Series champions and merchandise is flying off the shelf, but now you have a TV deal that’s about to increase. I don’t wanna hear anything about not being able to pay for the talent we need to bring in to make our team consistently better each and every year moving forward.”
