Falcons preparing for first season under Kevin Stefanski
As training camp continues for the Atlanta Falcons, players also continue to get acclimated to Kevin Stefanski’s system and as roles are defined, veteran offensive lineman, Jake Matthews, said accountability will be front and center as roster spots are earned.
“He’s got this mindset that nothing is given, it’s got to be earned,” Matthews said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell following the second day of training camp. “Everything’s about the work and we can’t take any shortcuts,” Matthews said of Stefanski’s approach to taking over as head coach.
“Those are lines you hear a lot throughout your career and they’re easy to say, but I think the cool thing about him is he’s really holding guys accountable and that’s what’s going to take us to the next level, so there’s no secret answers or anything, it’s about that work,” Matthews said.Falcons get training camp underway with new head coach Kevin Stefanski
