Fulton County receives $25M more for emergency rental assistance

As thousands of Fulton County residents continue to face hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional $25 million is being made available for rental and utility assistance.

The county says that it has already distributed $50 million.

In making the latest announcement, Chairman Robb Pitts said, "We received this additional funding because Fulton County was among the first jurisdictions, not only in our state but, in the nation to fully expand our Emergency Rental Assistance Program funding. Once again Fulton County lead not only the state of Georgia but the nation in this very important endeavor." Pitts said notification came in last Friday from the U.S. Treasury Department. "Those dollars are in the bank and ready to serve Fulton County."

County CEO for Health and Human Services Dr. Pamela Roshell said anyone needing assistance can call 855-776-7912. They can also apply online . It's for up to 18 months of rent and utility assistance. "We know that many residents in Fulton County are still in dire need of these resources and we are here to help," said Roshell.

County Manager Dick Anderson said during Tuesday's press conference, "This is truly government at its best."
