As the MLB trade deadline is vastly approaching the Braves find themselves once again to be buyers. Dukes & Bell talked about potential moves the team could make and why Alex Anthopoulos shouldn’t make a run to attain World Series hero Jorge Soler.

Carl said he doesn’t think it’s a move that will have the outcome like it did last season.

“I don’t think you can rekindle the magic again. We did it, I don’t think by bringing back Soler, unless that is a piece you feel like he truly makes us better, he fits all the needs. I just think you’re trying to rekindle the fire from last season, I don’t know if you can do that,” Dukes said. “To be honest with you I’d prefer Ian Happ, he fits better for what we’re looking for right now and the fact that you still have him under salary control.”

Mike talked about Soler’s production so far this season.

“Soler, if you remember, was not hitting his weight in Kansas City, was in the midst of a terrible slump, right now .207 with 13 home runs, 306 plate appearances. So he’s basically kinda where he was with the Royals.”
