Hawks look to even series with Knicks
The Atlanta Hawks have found themselves down 3-2 to the New York Knicks in the opening round of the NBA Playoffs after their 126-97 Game 5 loss on Tuesday, marking the second consecutive game in which the Hawks struggled offensively as the game got underway, finishing the first quarter on 1-8 (12.5 percent) shooting from three-point and finishing the game 13-32 (31 percent) from beyond the three-point line.
“It was bad offense. There was no rhythm to it,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and cohost Mike Bell shared their thoughts on the Hawks Game 5 performance in which they were outscored by the Knicks 60-42 on points in the paint, 20-9 on second chance points and 13-4 in fast break points. “It’s just doing the little things better,” Dukes said as he explained why he believes the Hawks struggled.
“It felt like there was a time in this game, maybe in the second quarter, we cam down three times and kicked it off our leg or turned it over. It was like turnover, ball going the other way,” Dukes said as he expressed his concern of how the Hawks played on Tuesday. “You have to do those little things if you’re going to try to get back into this series,” Dukes said of what he believes the Hawks have to correct ahead of Game 6 on Thursday.Hawks must correct offensive struggles ahead of Game 6 vs Knicks
